Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, captain of
Team Spirit, reached out to Valve requesting that professional players be treated differently than regular Dota 2 players.
The two time world champion world champion put forth this assertion in a recent post for the team’s Youtube channel.
“My first suggestion is definitely incorporating some sort of cosmetic feature on players for example- an emblem, a special icon or avatar. Something creative that gives you the ability to stand out. And yes, players must also be able to toggle the feature on and off. Additionally, there should be an option for some kind of anonymous mode. Users should be able to hide their nickname from the start. That way, they don’t have to worry about everyone knowing their identity”
Miposhka has expressed that he wants competitive players to have some form of toggle that gives them the freedom to stand out while undermining regular users. He has also stated that these players should have the ability dictate whether or not to let others know that they are professionals.
The champion has also stated wanting to conceal match statistics within matchmaking. The interesting point noting here is that he is not the first professional player to make such a request. Pro players strategies and builds and plans are always made public almost instantly.
“What else? Maybe the ability to entirely conceal my stats so that they are not accessible on any platform, or perhaps the option to use a different account which would probably be somewhere at the top. This account would not impact overall matchmaking in any way”
As a substitute, Miposhka proposed that Valve should let pro players smurf legally by using two accounts. He added that this would allow smurfers to play much more casually on the second account without caring about the rank and simply have fun, which they cannot do on their actual accounts.
Previously Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk made a bold claim regarding The International 2025.
