Team Spirit named the likely release date of the new Dota 2 patch

Mark ‘sikle’ Lerman, an analyst for Team Spirit, believes that the upcoming patch will drop sometime between February 16-20 or March 2-7.

This was posted in his Telegram channel.

“Right now, patch 7.37 has been active for 196 days, and that makes it the second longest patch we have after 7.32 which was 239 days. I recall we were all very tired waiting on that one.”

If we take a look at the release dates in comparison with the DreamLeague events, we have the following:

7.33d The 5th Day of S20 (7.34 came out 44 days after it).

7.34c 10 days before S21 (7.34d av earlier 11 days after it).

7.35c 4 days before S22 (7.35d av later 11 days after it).

7.36 Was on Day 2 of S23 (7.36a came 1 day later).

7.37d 26 days before S24, 15 days after TI2024, 19 days before BB Dacha 2024.

BLAST Slam II ended 3 days ago, in 4 days DL: Season 25 begins, and the next tournament (Wallachia S3) is in 24 days.

Based on this pattern, we can speculate that the patch will either drop during the early days of the tournament or between March 2-7 if it doesn't happen within the next two days”

After observing release patterns of the Dota 2 patches with the timing of both the international and DreamLeague tournaments, sikle came to the conclusion that there is a two week period where the new gameplay update could be released. His theory is that Valve would update the patch during the first few days of the DreamLeague Season 25 which starts on February 16 or choose to delay it until the first week of March somewhere between the 2nd and 7th.

A lot of people guessed that Valve would release the patch this week but it still has not happened.

Earlier, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov stated one of the new patch’s goals is to change the landscape of the Dota 2 Pro scene and explained why it will do so.
