NS stated that the new patch will shake up the Dota 2 pro scene, explaining the reason

Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov states that the upcoming Dota 2 patch will be fairly minor, but it will cause a stir in the professional scene due to the introduction of two new heroes, Ringmaster and Kez, in Captains Mode which will, in turn, shake up the drafts.

The esports player turned streamer commented this while live on Twitch.

“I hate to disappoint, but the patch will likely not be very big. People are overly excited because there hasn’t been a patch in a while, and they’re expecting some ***** huge update, but I’m almost certain it’ll be something like this: Kez and Ringmaster will be added to Captains Mode, balance will get a slight shake-up, but nothing major will happen”

He pointed out that for many players, there will be little difference as such changes are expected to be minimal. But, NS added, the case is different for pro players as now, for them, being able to pick Kez and Ringmaster in official games will be a huge shift in the meta, and greatly change the draft phase.

"In the professional scene, having 2 new heroes in Captains mode will greatly affect the drafts. I think Ringmaster will be immensely popular, while Kez, I'm not really sure but I guess people will give him a shot. However, for the average pub players, it won’t be that significant"

NS also gave a rough deadline for the new patch, hinting that it could come out sometime this week.
