Dota 2 has experienced yet another large-scale server outage, preventing users from fully connecting to matches. The issues affected several regions at once, including Western and Eastern Europe, as well as Russia. Massive complaints from players began pouring in on the evening of November 3.
Due to the issues, many users lost their connection to the game servers right in the middle of matches. Once disconnected, it is impossible to reestablish the connection: attempts to return to a game that has already started fail, and it is also impossible to start searching for a new match. In effect, players have been deprived of the ability to use Dota 2’s core online features.
The outage affected not only casual players but also the professional scene. Some matches in ongoing online tournaments had to be suspended due to lost connections. To continue the competitions, the organizers decided to hold rematches for the affected maps, retaining the teams’ original drafts.
As a reminder, players discovered a bug with the hero
Meepo that allows him to crash servers in Dota 2.
