Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov cited two reasons why Valve did not release the Crownfall update amidst DreamLeague Season 22. The company did not want to jeopardize server stability during the tournament, and an update had already been released earlier.

The former esports player and streamer made this statement on his Telegram channel.

"The patch won't be released today, wouldn't have been released yesterday, and won't be released tomorrow. The reason? There are several. Firstly, DreamLeague is ongoing, releasing a patch (event) during it puts the stability of the game and servers at risk, it's dangerous, it's unnecessary"

He emphasized that although many believe that Valve doesn't consider tournaments when releasing patches, that's not the case. According to him, there's another reason, which relates to the content plan.

"Just 3 days ago, a small update + blog was released. No one will release two updates with a three-day interval, why? There's a thing called a content plan, and content is distributed throughout the year"

NS stressed that developers wouldn't release another update in such a short interval because it's impractical. However, he mentioned there's a slim chance the event might start on the night of the 8th, but it's highly unlikely.

Recall that earlier dataminers believed they found hints in the code that the Crownfall update would be released on March 7-8, but the patch was never released.
