Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov, a streamer and former professional esports player, spoke about the existence of the "50% System" in Dota 2, which controls players' win rates within certain limits during matchmaking.
NS discussed this during a Twitch stream.
"Does the 50% win rate system from Gaben exist? 100% true. Only a person without logical thinking can't understand this. The main goal of matchmaking is to make the match 50/50. This is the main and only goal, besides matchmaking. But it doesn't work the way people think. It doesn't search for four **** players, figuring out who's drunk to put into your team. Those are already people's crazy theories"
The former professional esports player emphasized that the hidden mechanic doesn't work against players but rather makes matchmaking fairer. According to him, the system doesn't select bad players for the team but only controls to ensure that each team has a 50/50 chance of winning.
It's worth noting that he is not the first to mention the existence of such a mechanism. Dmitry "korb3n" Belov previously mentioned it, calling the presence of such a system in Dota 2 logical.
