Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov stated that Dota 2 was Valve's favorite development while The International tournaments remained an important marketing product for the company. However, Valve's interest in developing Dota 2 waned after the TI format was simplified.
The
Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.
“I agree that Dota has been neglected since the cancellation of The International. TI has always been a marketing product for Valve, and Dota was their favorite brainchild. It's not just about the prize pool, as I've already said: there's no True Sight, no sense of celebration at TI.”
According to Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov's conclusions, after the hype around The International tournaments died down, the developers began to pay less attention to the development of Dota 2 or simply changed their priorities, directing most of their resources to other company projects. Nevertheless, the
Team Spirit manager believes that despite the developers' declining interest in the development of Dota 2, they are still working on the game.
"Therefore, we can conclude that they have stopped paying attention to the game a little or simply shifted their priorities to other areas where their resources are needed. Again, I can't say that nothing is being done at all. Being dissatisfied is our credo."
Recall that Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov also explained why Counter-Strike players earn more than representatives of the Dota 2 pro scene.
