Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, sniper of Team Vitality, explained that their roster often takes breaks and sometimes doesn’t even practice, because having the right mindset is what helps them win — that’s their secret
He said this in a post-match interview at BLAST Rivals 2026 Season 1.
“When we have the right mindset, we make better decisions during the game, we listen to each other more. So coming into a tournament with a fresh mind is always better. When you are a bit burned out from many tournaments, where you constantly reach semifinals and finals, at some point your brain just goes into autopilot, and you stop thinking about bringing something new into the game. That’s why it’s important to keep your mind fresh. That’s why we take a lot of breaks. For example, after this tournament we will have a full week off — we won’t play at all. Just rest. And after IEM Atlanta 2026 we’ll see what happens, but most likely we also won’t practice”
ZywOo noted that because of the huge number of tournaments players can experience burnout, so the team pays attention to their mental condition. He said that sometimes players can even not play or practice for a whole week
According to him, this helps them disconnect from CS2 and reset, so often it’s better for them to rest before tournaments and show their best, rather than arrive burned out
