Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, former
Team Spirit player, admitted that he is likely no longer the best carry in the world after leaving the Dota 2 pro scene.
This bold statement was made during a Twitch stream.
"Right now, I’m probably no longer the best carry. It’s hard to judge because I’m not playing competitive Dota anymore. But before — yeah, most likely, because I was performing well compared to other carries. The others, who were there: miCKe, dyrachyo, Skiter, Pure — they all placed higher than me at TI. So no one cares. You can be considered anything, but if you’re not winning tournaments, no one cares how you play"
He emphasized that his opinion was not only influenced by his departure from the pro scene. Yatoro also mentioned that other star carries surpassed him at The International 2024, where
Team Spirit didn’t perform well. The two-time world champion said that you can consider yourself the best, but it doesn’t matter if you're not winning championships.
In other words, Yatoro believes the best carry is the one who will be winning tournaments in the new Dota 2 season.
Earlier, Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov,
Team Spirit manager, shared his true thoughts on the star roster of the team.
