Well-known analyst and commentator Andrey “Y0nd” Kholod spoke about the earnings of casters at Dota 2 tournaments. In a frank statement, he noted that there are no fixed rates in the industry - everything depends on the status, media and terms of cooperation with the studio. At the same time, according to him, a commentator can get up to $1500 and even more for one match.
This he said during a broadcast on Twitch:
"It all depends on the agreements. Someone can get 2 thousand dollars, someone - 10, someone - even 100. I don't know. It all depends on who you are and what kind of media you have"
The analyst added that pay per match can range from $50 to $1500 depending on the level of the tournament and the caster himself. Y0nd paid particular attention to how having a name and popularity can affect the amount of the fee:
"If Dyrachyo wants to be an analyst, do you think he'll have the same salary as me? I think it will be 10 times higher. He has a huge audience - it's a boost for the studio. Same with RAMZES666. If he needed it, he'd get the maximum right away"
As a reminder, Gaimin Gladiators previously surprised with a cryptic announcement following rumors of Quinn “Quinn” Callahan's departure.
