Valve has introduced the Spring Update for Dota 2, featuring a new treasure and an experimental feature called Dota Labs. Players have the option to decide whether they want to use these experimental features, which are initially disabled by default.
According to the official announcement on the Dota 2 website, the developers emphasize that Dota Labs is a test feature, and the company aims to gather player feedback on the feasibility of fully integrating it into the game.
What are Dota 2 Labs
Dota 2 Labs - is a new feature introduced in the latest game update by Valve. It is an experimental set of settings that allows players to test some features that are not as polished as other parts of the game. There is a new tab with experimental options in the settings menu, which is turned off initially.

New interface elements can be turned on and off at any time, depending on what the player prefers. In a way, it can be seen as global beta testing for all new things that Valve wants to put into this game.

Experimental features - are still testable settings found under a separate tab within the settings menu. Players can try out and evaluate these changes in gameplay themselves.
There are only three features available right now:
Key Action Filtering - allows you to assign modifier keys that limit potential targets to enemies, allies, creeps, or heroes. This innovation aims to simplify target selection in chaotic situations, eliminating erroneous actions. It is crucial to determine which filters are most or least useful in practice.

Fullscreen Map - represents an enlarged, semi-transparent, and expanded version of the mini-map designed to enhance perception. There are several questions regarding its compatibility with different playstyles, ways of utilization, and potential drawbacks.

Enhanced Health Bar Visibility - is intended to improve the readability of your hero's name during team battles. The question arises whether this feature simplifies the perception of the gaming situation or, conversely, adds visual complexity in the chaos of battle.

At the moment, it is challenging to assess how these changes in gameplay and convenience will prove useful. The community will need time for testing. Nevertheless additional interest has been brought into game by new settings, which indirectly may affect results of matchmaking.
