Valve might be preparing a surprise for Dota 2 players already this week because of an important date

A theory appeared on Reddit that Valve delayed the release of the major Dota 2 patch to December 12 because on this day it will be the 9th anniversary of the global update 7.00 “A New Journey”.

The thing is that exactly on December 12, 2016 the global patch was released, which significantly changed the game. Many fans are hoping that the patch will come out this week, since the developers have been updating the test servers for a long time, which usually indicates an upcoming content update or a big patch.

It’s worth reminding that in update 7.00 several important changes happend in Dota 2:

• A new hero Monkey King appeared

• Instead of standard skills the Talent Tree was added, making builds much more variable.

• Also in this update Tomes of Knowledge were added.

• The changes also affected map objects, trees and other elements of the landscape.

Many believe that exactly with update 7.00 Dota 2 started to get its modern look and become a more team-based MOBA.
