Erik "Tofu" Engel, support player for
Gaimin Gladiators, hinted that Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov caused significant issues within the team, making it impossible to continue playing with the same roster.
He shared this during an interview with BLAST TV.
"The team atmosphere left much to be desired. We were missing a lot of key elements: communication, trust, motivation, and hard work. Things just weren’t coming together. Some people weren’t pulling their weight, which only increased the burden on others"
The esports player suggested that the team was in a rough state leading up to The International 2024. According to Tofu, some players - likely referring to Dyrachyo - couldn't handle the pressure, causing others to suffer. He stated that the team had decided to remove the carry even before TI13.
"Things weren’t going well, and problems kept arising throughout the season. Ace and I were putting in extra hours, reviewing replays, trying to fix other people’s mistakes, and doing more than was required. Ultimately, we had to make the decision to move forward with a new roster"
Based on this statement, Tofu might have been one of the key proponents of Dyrachyo's removal from
Gaimin Gladiators. This could explain the sharp reaction from Dyrachyo's girlfriend, who called Tofu a hypocrite but didn’t elaborate on the reasons for her criticism.
Earlier, Quinn "Quinn" Callahan also commented on Dyrachyo’s departure, explaining why the player was removed from the roster.
