Dota 2 Patch 7.40

Mark “Sikle” Lerman, an analyst for Team Spirit, said that Valve has several options for releasing the new Dota 2 update, but he believes the patch will drop sometime between December 10 and 16.

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Everyone’s hope level is already overhyped, holidays are soon after all, so there’s a few chairs with predictions about the patch. Which one do you belive in?

  • The community’s hope to get an update for the nine-year anniversary of patch 7.00 – December 12.

  • In the middle of DreamLeague 27, during or after the group stage – December 10–16 (my predict).

  • Before Christmas Eve – December 19.

  • After the January holidays”

The analyst assumes that the community is considering a few possible dates for the patch release, but he himself leans toward the DreamLeague 27 window. Similar situations happend more than once already, and the developers really did release major patches right after the group stage of a tournament.

Sikle thinks that Valve will most likely release the patch between December 10 and 16, especially since this period includes the anniversary of the big 7.0 update, which significantly transformed the game.

Earlier it was reported that Valve may be preparing a surprize for Dota 2 players this week because of an important date.
