Vitaly “Save-” Melnyk has stated that the Dota 2 matchmaking update has affected
BetBoom Team's play, as the team now lacks advanced information about their opponents' strategies, other than what squad players receive in ranked matches involving their opponents.
The player made a statement to this effect on Twitch.
"Of course, it's had a big impact. Now we don't have any information about our opponents other than what we get from pub games against them."
According to the
BetBoom Team captain's statement, squad players need to be more active in matchmaking to learn more about their opponents' strategies, or real-time monitoring of opponents' games from their friends list. Vitaly “Save-” Melnyk said that, due to the lack of detailed matchmaking statistics, it has become more difficult to prepare for matches.
"Maybe we need to play more pubs to meet players from enemy teams more often and learn how they play. Or you can watch someone's games if the person is on your friends list and playing right now. Basically, we don't have any information right now, so it's hard to prepare. I can take whatever I want. Overall, I don't really care."
