Quinn Callahan, the midlaner for
Gaimin Gladiators, unexpectedly criticized Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk's decision to change his nickname to Raddan, calling the move a "complete foolishness" at The International 2024.
This harsh statement was made during a joint Twitch stream with Jean "Gorgc" Stefanovski.
"What’s with the weird nickname: Rain All Day (Raddan)? It’s just stupid, like an emo, self-centered archetype of a nickname. I think CCnC is a funny nickname, but I don’t think my nickname change was successful. It wasn’t for any dramatic reasons but because I wanted to distance myself from Dota 2 and pursue something beyond it. CCnC was too associated with it, and I wanted to move on"
Quinn also criticized the meaning of Raddan, which could be interpreted as "Rain All Day – Dota All Night." He described Yatoro's nickname as self-centered, pointing out that there was no need for such a change, contrasting it with his own situation. Quinn mentioned he changed his nickname to distance himself from Dota 2 rather than just satisfying his ego.
The two-time world champion has yet to respond to Quinn’s sharp critique.
Earlier, Yatoro made headlines with a highly controversial achievement at The International 2024.
