Quinn “Quinn” Callahan was pleased with the changes in Dota 2 matchmaking, as he believes that, due to hiding most of the information about the matches of pro-players, cybersports players will have to come up with more ideas on their own, instead of copying.
The player shared a relevant opinion on YouTube.
“Not being able to watch matches is kind of crazy in my opinion. I like the idea of hiding most of the information. Because of this, people will have to come up with more things on their own instead of just copying. They won't be able to determine what has the highest winning percentage.”
According to a statement from Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, the changes look enticing enough for members of the pro scene, but the player still thinks that completely hiding some players' stats from others seems odd.
“For the pro scene it sounds cool and tempting. But not being able to watch matches is kind of weird. It's like hiding a part from the general player base in a little cove where no one can see them. It's a weird concept, to me.”
In a recent update for Dota 2, the developers hid the statistics of matches in which at least one player has a rating above 8,500 MMR. Nevertheless, some of the popular statistics collection services have found alternative ways to monitor some of the data.
Recall that earlier Quinn “Quinn” Callahan commented on the victory over
Team Falcons on FISSURE Universe: Episode 4.
