Players have learned how to crash Dota 2 servers with Hand of Midas: the situation is critical

Players have discovered a way to not only exploit gold with Hand Of Midas but also crash Dota 2 servers in matchmaking.

To trigger the new bug, you need an Octarine Core, which can make Hand of Midas charges negative, eventually crashing the game server.

Here’s how to crash a Dota 2 server using Hand of Midas:

1. Buy Hand Of Midas.

2. Use Hand Of Midas until it has no charges left.

3. Drop Hand Of Midas on the ground.

4. Buy Octarine Core.

5. Pick up Hand Of Midas to get 1 negative charge.

6. Drop Octarine Core on the ground.

7. Drop Hand Of Midas on the ground.

8. Pick up Octarine Core.

9. Pick up Hand Of Midas to get another negative charge (total -2 so far).

10. Repeat steps 6-9 until you reach a negative charge of one million.

11. Buy Refresher Shard.

12. Use Refresher Shard, which will crash the server.

Players are urging Valve to intervene and simply remove Hand Of Midas from the game until the bug is fully fixed. Due to the enormous number of exploiters, balance in Dota 2 matchmaking has been completely ruined, and now gold abusers can also crash servers at will.
