NS stated an advantage for Dota 2 players with low MMR

Beginner players with low MMR are said by the former esports player and streamer, Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov to have a better understanding of Dota 2 than high-ranking players who simply know which buttons to press.

He was quoted as saying this on a Twitch broadcast.

“Funny story, but I think that on average, players with low ratings have more theoretical knowledge than the hyper-mega grinders who play at high ratings. A player who has recently started playing studies all this, thinks about what he needs, and it's really true without jokes. There is a thought that if somebody has a high rating they know everything and understand everything in Dota 2. It’s not true at all - they only spam buttons frequently as compared to lower rated gamers”

This means that people with less MMR will do well against higher tier players in matches when faced with situational moments while thinking ahead into the future unlike top ranked individuals who choose heroes based on their attack power solely. Consequently, low MMR has some advantage over high skill level matchmaking in certain respects according to NS.

This recalls NS telling bad news about Clement “Puppey” Ivanov before identifying a significant problem for this Dota 2 legend earlier.
