NS named Valve's mistakes in the development of Dota 2

Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov believes that the developers in the development of Dota 2, among them the refusal to release Battle Passes during major events, as well as inflated prizes at previous The International and majors.

The streamer shared a relevant opinion in a private Twitch broadcast.

“You think Dota developers are wrong because they stopped releasing Battle Passes of some sort during The Internationals and majors, but they used to. But in fact it was their unrealistic mistake. Valve made a huge mistake with the strategy of cybersports development in Dota. It was a big mistake, a big mistake.

Those $3 million majors - that was a mistake too. It was also a mistake to inflate the TI prize pool the way it did from the beginning. There were a lot of mistakes. The sheer number of “immortals” they flooded Dota with was also a very bad move. Thankfully, they gave up on that.”

Another serious mistake of the developers, reported by Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov, is the unwillingness to seriously develop the development of Dota 2, as well as overemphasizing the development of a new MOBA-shooter Deadlock, which the streamer considers unpromising.

“It's just a problem that developers in principle Dota is now very little engaged in Dota. Resources are transferred to Deadlock, dying before it was born. That's a strong mistake, too. Isn't a cursory glance enough to realize that Deadlock is not a game worth putting resources into? No one will play it.”

Concluding his statement, the streamer predicted that Deadlock will repeat the fate of the failed game Artifact.

Earlier, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov spoke about the new patch 7.37d, saying that it serves only as an addition to the release of a new treasure trove, without making significant changes to the Dota 2 meta.
