Nix named three simple solutions for Valve to make Dota 2 popular again

Alexander “Nix” Levin shared his opinion on how Valve can bring back the interest of the general audience in Dota 2. According to him, the company should implement three simple and obvious steps: reset the rating system, return the battle pass and release a new in-game event.

The famous streamer and former cybersports player said during a broadcast on Twitch.

“It's understandable why cyber athletes play. But why the average kid should play is still unknown. Something needs to be updated. I would add an event. Remember Labyrinths of Aganim? It was really cool. I'd drop the MMR and, of course, we should bring back Battle Pass on Int. These are the three most basic solutions, you don't even need to think of anything”

According to the streamer, such changes could breathe new life into the game and bring back the interest of both old players and new users. He especially emphasized the importance of bringing back the Battle Pass for The International 2025, as that was the way the tournament's prize pool was filled, with items inside that players wanted to get.

Nix noted that these three solutions are extremely simple to implement, but could significantly affect the popularity of Dota 2.
