Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov believes that Dota 2 pro players are less resilient to stress than athletes in traditional sports, which is why they need an individualized approach.
The player shared this opinion on YouTube.
“In traditional sports, people are probably more resilient to that kind of treatment. Maybe, in general, they handle it more easily when people speak unfavorably about them, especially when they say it as bluntly and tactlessly as possible."
According to Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, Dota 2 esports players are more sensitive to outside opinions. The former
Team Spirit captain noted that esports players rely more on their minds than on physical strength, which is why it’s important to find the right words when criticizing pro players’ actions. Miposhka also noted that players who take on a leadership role in the team must learn to take a gentle approach with their teammates.
“In Dota, people seem more sensitive, not quite as confident in themselves. No matter how you look at it, I think that in esports—where you mainly use your brain, so to speak, rather than your physical body—it’s certainly more important to find the right words at the right moment. It’s simply a matter of learning tact.
It’s very important—if you take on the role of someone who will criticize others for their mistakes and their gameplay—to be able to convey information to them effectively. By exercising tact and taking an individual approach: sometimes being firmer, sometimes softer.
This isn’t something everyone is capable of. And this is a very important element if you take on the role of a leader. I believe it is important to be able to find the right words and to exercise tact in this matter.”
As a reminder, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov previously spoke about changes in his personal life following the esports player’s departure from the Dota 2 pro scene.
