Dmitriy "Korb3n" Belov, the manager of Team Spirit, stated that Valve's punishment for using Overplus should not affect players competing in the professional Dota 2 scene.

In an unexpected reaction on his Telegram, Korb3n commented on the wave of cheater bans initiated by Valve with the Dragon's Hoard update.

"The punishment is harsh. Account ban is even worse. Let them create a new one and suffer. But the punishment should not affect competitive Dota. There were no violations in competitive Dota. Or if Lord Gabe thinks otherwise, it should definitely be much softer. Otherwise, do whatever you want with them, even make them clean your office on weekends with their kids"

However, the Team Spirit manager emphasized that while he believes the punishment should be softer for professional players, he acknowledges that his opinion may not necessarily be correct. He also stressed that there were no violations in the professional scene.

The statement seems rather peculiar, considering that the use of Overplus did indeed provide unfair advantages by accessing closed client statistics of opponents' previous picks. Many esports players were banned for using cheats.
