How to Spawn a Bot in Dota 2

Adding a Bot in Dota 2

A bot can be added in Dota 2 by using console or chat commands and this can be done either on “try mode” or while playing it with cheats enabled. The simplest command that adds a bot is

-createhero hero_name

If you want to add an enemy bot, you should add the word enemy to the command

-createhero hero_name enemy

For example, to add an enemy bot Sven, you would enter:

-createhero sven enemy.

Leveling Up Bots

After adding a bot into your game, sometimes its level has to be adjusted so as to create various game scenarios. Use this command:

-lvlbots <x>

Where <x> is the desired number of levels you want to add. For instance, -lvlbots 5 will increase the level of all bots on the map by 5 levels.

For them fight effectively and do different strategies; some items may be necessary on their side. Type in this command:

-givebots item_name

Additional Commands for Managing Bots and Gameplay

A variety of other useful commands are available for managing gameplay aspects when using cheat mode on Dota 2 including:

  • -killwards destroys all observer and sentry wards.

  • -disablecreepspawn and -enablecreepspawn disable and enable the spawning of lane creeps, respectively.

  • -respawn moves your hero to the base, also respawning them if they were dead.

  • -wtf activates a mode where spells do not require mana and have no cooldown.
