Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis, rifler of FURIA, said that the current CS2 tournament schedule is just terrible, and if players are not given proper breaks between events, it will negatively affect the level of play of many teams.

The esports player talked about this in an interview with Esport News UK.

“The schedule is just awful. If you are a top team that reaches playoffs and makes it to semifinals or finals, you then have to immediately travel to the next tournament, and then once again play group stage, reach playoffs, and so on. I think that in some way you don’t really see the best versions of teams, because they are constantly moving from one tournament to another”

YEKINDAR believes the schedule is critically wrong, since players literally have no real breaks between tournaments, and right after finishing one event they already have to go to the next one. According to him, all of this has a negative impact on players skill level and even their health.

“Of course, I would prefer longer breaks between tournaments, so there would be more chances to go home more often. At the end of the day, this is our job. We try to build the best schedule possible for ourselves, and our colleagues help us with that. We try to go to the gym. We try to eat healthy food and so on. But tournament organizers schedule our matches very late, to attract more viewers”

YEKINDAR thinks that breaks between tournaments should be longer, and he would also change the match schedules themselves. He explained that matches are often played very late just to gain more viewers, but because of that players can’t build a normal routine and end up damaging their health and preparation.

Earlier, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets unexpectedly admitted that Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was better than him.
