Fng Weighs In on MiLaN’s Role at Team Spirit

Artem “Fng” Barshak believes that with the arrival of Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, Milan “MiLaN” Kozomara’s contribution to Team Spirit’s results has become minimal.

The player shared his opinion on Telegram.

“When I was at VP with Bulba, I was sort of a ‘second coach’ too. That imposes certain limitations on you—you can’t set the direction. You can support the head coach’s direction and only then look for some other role.

That’s the crux of it: you just do what’s required and that’s it—nothing else at the same time. Do you watch replays? Yes, you do. Do you keep stats? Yes. Maybe you’ll share them, maybe not. It’s a matter of necessity. Every team goes through different phases.

It seems to me that Spirit is in a phase right now where, overall, Milan isn’t exactly the most valuable player. When needed, he’ll always make an impact. That’s the whole point: if everything’s going well for you, you can play comfortably even without a coach. If things are going badly, then you really need to find a coach.

A second coach is usually more of an analyst or statistician: maybe he’ll say something, maybe not. Korb3n, too—maybe he’ll say something, maybe not. What I’m getting at is that if the guys are keeping him around, it means he’s already made an impact. That’s the most important thing when you keep someone on the team.

I think, overall, they’ll take a long-term view of how many resources are being spent on a second coach and what the return on that investment is. They’ll simply realize that the return isn’t high enough, and then they’ll let him go, perhaps.”

Nevertheles, according to a statement by Artem “Fng” Barshak, since Milan “MiLaN” Kozomaru hasn’t been cut from the team yet, he has managed to prove his worth and is currently doing quite a bit of work within the team, assisting Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov. Still, the streamer and former esports player believes that, over time, the organization will realize that keeping two coaches is financially unfeasible, after which MiLaN may leave the team.
