Gaben Dota 2 money

By November, the total prize money awarded in Dota 2 tournaments has passed $377.4 million, and this once again makes the discipline the absolute leader of the industry in terms of payouts.

The statistics was provided by Esports Charts

For comparison, the closest follower, Fortnite, collected $202.9 million — almost twice less. Third place went to Counter-Strike, with total prize money of $162.8 million. The top-5 also includes League of Legends ($122 million) and the mobile MOBA Arena of Valor ($111.5 million).

The remaining spots in the top-10 where taken by PUBG Mobile, PUBG, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and StarCraft II — disciplines that keep stable interest from the audience, but still significantly fall behind the leader in total earnings.

Top-10 esports by prize money:

  • Dota 2 — $377.4M

  • Fortnite — $202.9M

  • Counter-Strike — $162.8M

  • League of Legends — $122M

  • Arena of Valor — $111.5M

  • PUBG Mobile — $89.8M

  • PUBG — $67M

  • Rocket League — $51M

  • Rainbow Six Siege — $49.9M

  • StarCraft II — $43.5M

Earlier it was announced that at the Esports Awards the title of the best esports discipline went to League of Legends. However, in terms of total prize money Dota 2 still remains without competition, continuing to hold the status of the most expensive esports game in the world.
