A new way to exploit gold with
Hand Of Midas using
Doom has been discovered in Dota 2, which could once again break the balance of matchmaking.
Reddit users brought attention to this issue.
The new bug allows players to sell items for 90% of their value when playing as
Doom. This could lead to a resurgence of
Hand Of Midas exploits in public games, where players quickly amassed huge amounts of gold, breaking the matches.
How the bug works:
The player picks
Doom with the Devil's Bargain aspect. The user gives control of the hero to a player whose items need to be sold.
The player moves their item to
Doom inventory and sells it.
Commenters quickly noticed that
Hand Of Midas is used in the example demonstrating the bug. Developers had previously reduced the selling value of items to mitigate the gold abuse, but now the bug could return.
This problem has long disrupted matchmaking, as when developers fixed it, players would find new ways to exploit the bug. Now, the situation may repeat, and
Dooms pick rate in matchmaking could rise due to the exploit's use.
Recall that players previously learned how to crash Dota 2 servers with
Hand Of Midas, which led to a critical situation in matches.
