Timur ‘Ahilles’ Kulmukhambetov believes that nothing may change in the organisation of The International 2024 due to the involvement of a new tournament operator, however, this decision of Valve has left the cybersportsman with an unpleasant residue.
The corresponding opinion of the
1win coach published in his personal Telegram channel.
‘Here comes an era gone. Last Int already took place under the control of PGL. Perhaps only the final stage of the tournament was fully or partially from Valve. Or maybe it wasn't at all. But since Seattle was the venue for TI12, that means Valve was involved in the tournament.
As far as I know, PGL are the cool kids. Maybe technically it won't have any effect. But there's still a residue that Valve doesn't care about you. Valve won't be doing a battle pass? Or is it unrelated? More questions than answers.’
The International 2024 will take place from 4-15 September in Copenhagen. This year's tournament will feature 16 teams and a prize pool of $1.6 million, down from $5 million at the Riyadh Masters 2024.
1win got a slot at the championship through the regional closed qualifiers, where the team showed the best result among the Eastern European squads.
