Zonic Speaks Out on Team Falcons' Losses

Danny “zonic” Sorensen considers Team Falcons’ losses at BLAST Bounty Summer and the 2026 Esports World Cup a disastrous start to the season following a successful finish to the previous one.

The player made this statement in an interview with HLTV.

“We’ve already discussed this a bit. The whole team and some players—and here we’re obviously talking about one specific person—have been working toward winning a Major for a very long time. For many of them, this is a new chapter in their careers. Plus, for a guy like Kyousuke, winning a Major at such a young age is probably something he never expected. I firmly believe we need to find what motivates the guys both individually and as a team. This approach has always worked.

I wouldn’t call it a “hangover.” We really wanted to put up a great result at the EWC. For us, this is the most important tournament—not just for the roster, but for the entire organization. I wouldn’t say the start of the season is outright unacceptable, but it’s certainly a bit disappointing given how we finished last season with a bang in Cologne. But then again, in a sense, we’re still a new team that has a lot more to figure out.”

According to Danny “zonic” Sorensen, the team’s victory at the IEM Cologne Major was a significant success for Team Falcons, giving the roster the opportunity to end last season on a high note. The player believes that the victory was a special achievement for Maxim “Kyousuke” Lukin, but subsequent losses showed that the young roster still has issues to work on.
