Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov claims that Deadlock is exponentially higher in terms of complexity than many other popular esports games.
The commentator shared his thoughts on the Telegram channel.
“I watched Rekrent’s stream. Movement skill ceiling in Deadlock is impossibly high. Literally, if CS is a 3 out of 10 in terms of difficulty and Dota is a 5, then Deadlock is an 11.
I think in some tournaments those pixel-perfect jumps over half the map will become standard, but the main question is: how much should the average player have to struggle? Fortnite took off like crazy back in the day. The gap between pros and noobs was enormous, but that didn’t stop a ton of casuals from playing.
I still don’t understand how to view this, whether in esports or on streams.”
According to Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov, CS2 has the simplest movement mechanics among several popular esports games. The commentator rated the complexity of movement in Counter-Strike 2 at 3 out of 10, while in Deadlock, it can be as high as 11 out of 10. In Dota 2, movement skill was given a 5. The content creator believes that Deadlock will become one of the most challenging esports games, with an exceptionally high skill gap between the pros and casuals.
It should also be noted that as Deadlock is in the testing phase, so far, only small online tournaments with a prize pool of several thousand dollars have been organized in this game.
