Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk, the
Team Spirit carry, noted that killing the Tormentor at 15 minutes is not a delicate time in the game and elaborated on what to do if the enemies get it secured.
He had this to say during the post match interview of DreamLeague Season 25.
“Do I think the 15-minute Tormentor fight is critical? It’s 50-50. If you have a decent chance of winning the fight, go ahead. If not, then split-push. You really don’t have to worry about the game ending with the Tormentor - it’s not the third Roshan. It just gives extra gold to poor supports so they aren’t completely miserable. But losing the Tormentor isn’t a big problem”
The two-time Dota 2 world champion does not consider the changes to Tormentor in patch 7.38 to be game changing, calling it only a gank for gold for the supports. In Yatoro’s opinion, while the mini-boss is somewhat useful, it can certainly be negated with proper split-pushing to mitigate the advantage gained from proper split-pushing.
Notable, Martin Saksa Sazdov has a completely different perspective. He thinks that the 15-minute Tormentor became one of the key factors of winning games and has insisted Valve should take some action against this problem.
