Topias ‘Topson’ Taavitsainen, a 2x world champion in Dota 2, is going to train with the Finnish Army due to which he has retired from the pro scene as of now. This news was made public by her wife.

His wife posted a photo of the couple together on her Instagram page and captioned it.

“Topias left for military service this afternoon. wishing him all the best we are gonna miss you so much”

The photos hint at Topson’s wife and their daughter saying goodbye to the esports athlete who now is set to begin his obligatory military service. He even left the competing scene for this opportunity but under Finnish law he was able to postpone his military service.

Interestingly, Lasse ‘MATUMBAMAN’ Urpalainen, another Dota 2 icon, also left the pro scene due to the same reasons during his time.

A year following, Dota 2 was played again by Topson which is unexpected since he hasn’t played it in a while.
