Dota 2 has received a small but important update that fixes a critical bug in “Quarterly Oddities” that caused the game to crash, but fans were eagerly awaiting the release of “Compendium 2025.”
Mark “Sikle” Lerman, an analyst at
Team Spirit, pointed out the important changes on his Telegram channel.
The
Radiance effects for level 29 in “Quartero's Curios” that caused Dota 2 to crash have been fixed. The cast settings category for
Rubick is now labeled as Hero Specific. For now, this is done for convenience, but other heroes may be added to this group in the future.
It is noted that the visual effect has not undergone any visible changes, but the game no longer crashes when they are activated. Many players encountered this problem, but now Valve has fixed the bug.
Nevertheless, fans expected the update to finally bring Compendium 2025 to the game, but this did not happen. Most likely, the Battle Pass equivalent will appear in Dota 2 only on August 21, exactly two weeks before the start of The International 2025.
As a reminder, it was previously revealed that the free skins in Dota 2 were not made by Valve, but one of the sets is already nine years old.
