Valve released an emergency update to fix the gold abuse bug with
Hand Of Midas in Dota 2, but the situation remains unresolved. Moreover, now gold abusers are teaming up and have found an even easier way to exploit the bug with the help of allies. It is possible that Valve may temporarily remove the item from the game.
The new method was reported by Mark "sikle" Lerman, an analyst for
Team Spirit, on his Telegram channel.
He confirmed that halving the resale price of
Hand Of Midas did not resolve the issue. The matchmaking situation is critical, as players have found a new way to abuse gold by passing
Hand Of Midas to allies and then retrieving it. This allows for even faster gold farming, disrupting the balance in matchmaking.
Players on social media are already requesting the removal of
Hand Of Midas from the game until Valve finds an effective solution to fix the gold abuse bug.
Previously, Valve released an emergency update in which they took radical measures by altering one of Dota 2's mechanics.
