One of the most famous Dota 2 streamers, Jan “Gorgc” Stefanovski has mentioned that Valve has no intention of doing worldwide Battle Passes anymore and is preparing something else to replace it.
He said this while he was streaming.
“Valve is moving in the right direction I think. They started with a small Battle Pass which was increasing year by year but at some point they decided to stop them. Now Valve are experimenting”
The exact meaning was not exposed by him but he stressed that he had faith in their innovations. It is possible that the developers will soon unveil what will be taking over for the Battle pass, as the prize pool for Dota 2 World Championship – The International 2024 – is financed by selling Battle Pass/ Compendium.
Probably on the arrival of a new hero, Ring Master, who Valve announced during TI12 might also have an equivalent Battle Pass in game. However, even though we know about global patch 7.36 there’s still no addition or introduction of this hero into the game.
