Valve earns billions from Dota 2 and CS2 players: sums revealed

According to their data, Valve made $980 million, but this does not include the percentage that developers receive from the resale of in-game items on the Steam marketplace, so the actual sum likely exceeds a billion dollars.

As for Dota 2, there is no precise data since the company does not disclose its revenues. However, according to SuperData Research, Valve earned $406 million from Dota 2, and considering inflation, growing popularity, and other factors, the sum for 2023 could be close to $800 million or even more, taking into account the percentage from marketplace sales.

It's worth noting that Valve has promised compensation to Dota 2 players who did not receive their rewards due to a bug in the game.
