On January 15, Valve released a patch that cracked down on a method of modifying game files in Dota 2 client.
To protect against intentional modification of game files for the purpose of cheating, CRC checks will now be performed and passed to the GC. If local changes to the game files are detected, then the network game will not be possible and when trying to find the game, the user will receive a notification.
Previously, Tundra Esports offlaner Neta «33» Shapira switched between each spider on Broodmother, which was not possible without modifying the game files. However, Valve decided not to punish the player, but to make this option available to everyone.
