On January 5th, Valve released a patch in which added a new console command to manage controlled units.
List of changes:
- The command dota_selection_groups is by default set to true (which groups units together);
- Command can be set to dota_selection_groups false to allow microing the units separately;
- The update also fixed a few HUD related issues, a cast sound issue for Jakiro’s Dual Breath and set the collector’s cache voting panel in the main menu to hidden.
Earlier, Team Tickles coach Daniel «ImmortalFaith» Moza noticed a suspicion in Tundra Esports offlaner Neta «33» Shapira play, where he switched between each spider on Broodmother. This was only possible when changing the game files.
ImmortalFaith:
I heard people need to remove some config file from their dota2 in order to do this. We've encountered this multiple times lately. Is this ok to do in DPC? I personally don't see any difference from doing this to using a script.
However, Valve quickly reacted to the situation, and added the ability to change the parameter for switching between the group and units via the console command. And this is no longer a violation.
