Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen, the midlaner of
Tundra Esports, expressed his wish for Valve to remove Dota2ProTracker, similar to Overplus, where almost all statistics of Dota 2 pro players are tracked.
This statement was made during an interview published on the club's YouTube channel.
"I wouldn't mind if they all get removed [similar to Overplus]. I hope. That they remove Dota2ProTracker and everything like that so we can play on the main accounts and hide strategies"
He noted that due to services like Dota2ProTracker and its counterparts that collect statistics about professional players' games, it is challenging to surprise opponents. Partly because of this, esports players had to play on smurf accounts to secretly practice new strategies.
"Now, everyone knows if someone makes a new build - one game, and the next day everyone knows about it. If you pick a hero and play it for 1-2 pubs, I'm sure everyone already knows about it"
According to Topson, before the emergence of such services, players could surprise their opponents by choosing a new hero or adopting unconventional strategies, providing easy victories and making the game more enjoyable. Now, however, the esports player believes that such surprises are no longer possible, as everyone finds out what the pro player has been practicing within a day or even a few hours.

It's worth noting that earlier in
Tundra Esports, there were hints that Topson is no longer the captain of the team, with another player taking on that role.
