Thorin spoke about Hally’s return to Team Spirit

Duncan “Thorin” Shields believes that if Team Spirit’s results decline after Sergey “hally” Shavaev returns, the team would be better off keeping Dmitry “S0tF1k” Forostyanko and working with two coaches.

The analyst shared this opinion on YouTube.

“If Hally returns to bootcamp and the results start to decline, then we’ll have to ask Hally to stay. Maybe Hally should take on the role of head coach, and S0tF1k should become the coach at tournaments and bootcamps.”

According to a statement by Duncan “Thorin” Shields, the analyst is confident that Sergey “hally” Shavaev supported the team while he was on vacation. Nevertheless, the analyst believes that two coaches can successfully work with the team simultaneously, with one taking on the duties of head coach and the other performing a supporting role.

“I’m almost certain that Hally communicated with the team just as much as S0tF1k did while he wasn’t present at IEM Rio and PGL Astana. No one has forgotten the work he’s done over all these years. He was with the team for many, many months. Maybe that played a role.

Two coaches can easily coexist on the same team. Many people don’t realize that this is a classic setup in Korean esports. There’s a head coach who manages the process, the training sessions, and sees the big picture. He turns to an assistant or co-coach when it becomes difficult to keep track of the specifics and details.”

As a reminder, Duncan “Thorin” Shields previously named Team Spirit as the top contenders to win the IEM Cologne Major 2026 tournament.
