Korb3n as Dmitry Belov is popularly known, the manager and analyst for
Team Spirit remarked that lower-tier teams should consider selling spots on their teams for wealthy individuals who wish to compete at The International or other Dota 2 tournaments.
Korb3n shared these thoughts whilke conducting a live Twitch stream:
“I’m really amazed smaller organizations do not consider selling slots at EPL to rich people. For instance, there is an organization like Asakura. You want to play at a high level and have people watching you. With a little creativity, they could sell you a spot on the team for one match. If you pay $100,000 and come on as a stand-in – easy money, haha.
Business idea, write it down! You could charge far more depending on the tournament. For EPL (English Premier League) – $100,000; for TI (The International) – $1 million; for Dream League – $500,000. It could vary depending on who you’re playing against. If Spirit is playing against nobodies, then it does not matter but if they are facing Spirit, that’s printing money”
It appears as if the team manager believes relegated clubs need a new strategy to really cash in, claiming set staggered prices based on how important the tournament is for the industry. In his case the staggering price is $1 million for a substitute spot at The International.
A few moments ago the
Team Liquid contestants shared with their Internationals 2024 winners a one of a kind gift.
