Andreas “Cr1t” Nielsen has left professional Dota 2, taking an indefinite leave of absence.

The player announced this on his personal X page.

“I’ve decided to take an indefinite break from tournaments and won’t be playing next season. It wasn’t an easy decision. I love this game, I cherish the past few years of my life, and I realize how privileged I’ve been to be able to make a living doing what I love.

I want to thank everyone I’ve worked and played with over the years. I’ve been incredibly lucky to play alongside the best players from several generations. Thank you to all the fans who rooted for me and against me. See you soon on stream.”

According to a statement by Andreas “Cr1t” Nielsen, the esports player does not plan to compete in the new season, though he is grateful to the pro scene for the opportunity to earn a living doing what he loves. The player also thanked all his former teammates and fans. At this time, it is unknown when Cr1t will resume his career.
