Team Spirit’s captain surprised with an unexpected reason for the team’s failure at The International 2024

Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, captain of Team Spirit, stated that the format of The International 2024 was a major factor in his team's failure this year. He is surprised that the team lost only two series and missed the chance to defend their championship title.

He shared this in his Telegram channel.

"Well, I don’t know what to say about the tournament, guys. We tried, made mistakes, did dumb things, made wrong decisions, and focused on the wrong things - classic stuff. This led to our defeat. It’s strange to lose two series and get knocked out, but it’s what it is. The tournament system this time slightly undermined us, but we are to blame. We will keep working and moving forward regardless. Thanks to everyone who supported us"

The two-time world champion admitted that the tournament format let the team down, as losing just two matches cost them the chance to win the Aegis this year. However, Miposhka acknowledged that many mistakes were made during the matches, and while the unconventional format affected the team, he does not blame anyone for the failure. He also thanked the supporters and stated that the champions will keep moving forward.
