In a recent streaming session on Twitch,
Team Spirit Manager Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov argued that retired pros would struggle to break into the top 100, even with a staggering win/loss ratio of 60%.
Korb3n essentially said that the greatest of the greats, such as Vasya “AfterLife”, not even making it close to the top 100 is a shocking statement. Equally as shocking is the fact that neither would iLTW.
This undeniably sheds light on the ever increasing rating inflation bubble, where even the top tier legends struggle to attain ratings surpassing 9-12k. For context, the minimum rating to get to the top 100 is a meager 14k MMR – this demonstrates the sheer scale of rating inflation.
Team Spirit had previously pointed out a telling detail they found with patch 7.37c that Valve conveniently forgot to mention.
