Korb3n Weighs In on Organizations Leaving Dota 2

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes there are currently enough Tier 1 teams on the Dota 2 pro scene, and that only those organizations that were undercutting the market have left the esports discipline.

The Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.

“Not enough teams? There used to be fewer Tier 1 teams than there are now. There are plenty of teams now. Plus, the only teams disappearing are the ones that used to undercut the market to sign certain players.

They undercut the market with money. Obviously, this works great in the short term, but it gets tough in the long run. As soon as a team stops winning everything or anything at all, it becomes hard to keep paying inflated salaries.

There’s your answer. The teams that didn’t dump the market in the first place and didn’t pay inflated salaries are all still around, doing just fine, and having a blast. I’m not just talking about the Falcons. I’m just stating the facts.”

According to a statement by Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, there were several organizations in the esports scene that lured top players by offering inflated salaries. As soon as the teams started losing, the organizations’ financial situation began to deteriorate, causing them to gradually lose the ability to support their teams. Nevertheless, organizations that didn’t engage in such practices continue to operate successfully.

As a reminder, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov previously named those responsible for the lack of competition in professional Dota 2.
