Team Spirit Manager Names Those Responsible for Weak Competition on the Dota 2 Pro Scene

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes that the responsibility for the low level of competition on the Dota 2 pro scene lies with the management of teams from underperforming regions.

The Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.

“I find the lack of competition rather amusing, because last year it was pretty much the same. Well, at least if you break down what you wrote into two parts. ‘Almost all CIS teams are bookmakers’—last year it was the same, even worse, because Team Yandex wasn’t in Tier 1.

In that regard, nothing has changed—it’s even improved, you could say. But for some reason, no one asked those questions. Second, regarding ‘there’s almost no competition from other regions’—there was competition, but whose fault is it? Who’s to blame for this? Probably just the management of teams from other regions? I’m fine with it.”

According to Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, bookmakers are eager to sponsor teams from Eastern Europe, but organizations in other regions do not receive similar funding, which lowers the level of competition on the Tier 1 scene in those regions. Nevertheless, the Team Spirit manager is relaxed about this issue and believes that the situation has recently begun to improve.
