Mark “Sikle” Lerman, an analyst for
Team Spirit, suggested that Arjun, the new Dota 2 hero, may appear in the game as early as December 1, explaining what this prediction is based on.
He shared his thoughts on Telegram.
“If we speculate further, just out of interest, the anniversary of the Bhagavad Gita (the Song of God, during which Arjuna was instructed in the Mahabharata) is celebrated on December 1 (Gita Jayanti). It might not mean anything, but people familiar with the culture notice this”
Sikle noted that the lead developer of Dota 2 may have Indian roots, and the game already contains many references to Indian mythology. Considering this, the hero could be released specifically for the anniversary of the Bhagavad Gita, celebrated on December 1.
Given this, it’s reasonable to expect that the new hero might arrive in Dota 2 in less than a month. Since Arjun has already appeared on the test servers, it’s quite possible that he is indeed ready for release within 2–3 weeks, which often happens with major updates.
It is also possible that Arjun will be released together with the long-awaited 7.40 patch, which Dota 2 fans have been expecting for a while.
It’s worth noting that earlier Sikle revealed what Arjun might look like, including his appearance, weapon, and potential abilities.
