Team Spirit manager Dmitry Korb3n Belov stated that the organizers of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 should have disqualified Azure Ray. According to Korb3n, replacing three players resets EPT points or disqualifies the team according to championship rules. This rule specifically led to the team's exclusion from the tournament, but there were no questions raised by the organizers regarding the Chinese team Azure Ray.

Korb3n expressed this opinion in his personal Telegram channel.

"As for Azure Ray, I don't really care whether they were disqualified or not, whether they won the tournament or not. I'm a fan of Team Aster :D I just pointed out the loophole in ESL rules because their rules explicitly state that replacing 3 players resets EPT points or disqualifies the team.

It was precisely because of this rule that we were not allowed to participate with 3 substitutions and our slot was given to the WEU qualifiers. And by the same rule, Azure Ray should have been disqualified. But, he who is the master is the boss," wrote Dmitry Korb3n Belov on his Telegram.

Recall that earlier, Team Spirit showed an excellent win rate growth in the new 7.35b patch for Dota 2, after which a representative of the team commented on the new update.
