Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, the captain of
Team Spirit, revealed that some of the problems the team has include laning, tournament prep, drafts, and overall teamplay which led them to lose at FISSURE Playground 1.
The two-time world champion shared this in a new video on the club’s YouTube channel.
“The newcomers have done well. I think we tried a new meta and adapted our gameplay to a more improv based style. We did not prepare very well and did not have much time to do so. My teammates and I only played qualifiers before this event, so it feels like this tournament was just qualifiers in disguise. My current self-introspection tells me that the result I got was not bad”
Miposhka did point out that the problem was not the newcomers, but more deep-rooted problems that the team did not have the time to address. Even after being touerament eliminated, Miposhka thinks that
Team Spirit did well while claiming that he was quite drained.
“We should work on the first 10-15 minutes of the laning phase as well as understanding each other better. We need to brainstorm on how to enhance our lanes and utilize the power of our heroes in lane. We have to be careful not to make errors that are completely unacceptable. We are losing some matchups that should be, at the minimum, 50-50, or what I would consider, if not 60-40 in our favor. That's just one example. Another problem is that we did not have the proper discipline in deciding when to group and push the enemy”
Miposhka noted a number of issues that require solving, and thinks it is good that the team was not invited to BLAST Slam #2. He believes that this will allow them enough time to rest, practice, and attempt to fix those errors.
Earlier, the
Team Spirit captain also shared about his peculiar condition which was seen during the tournament.
